Have you ever been on a blind date where within three minutes you wanted to escape? Or maybe, like a lot of people, you just don’t meet other people, single or not, through your work or immediate circle of friends. Simply put, speed dating is an efficient, fast, pressure-free way for single males and females to meet each other in a safe place. SpeedDate Malta parties are held in a variety of venues, including restaurants, clubs and bars. This is how it works!
When you arrive at your chosen venue, you will be greeted by one of our hosts and given a badge, score card and pen. We will explain the speed dating procedure for the evening and during this time you can enjoy a relaxing drink at the bar.
You will be directed to the table number corresponding to your badge number, together with your first date. Once everyone has been seated, the speed dating will commence. You will then have 3 minutes to talk to your first date. When the 3 minutes is up, your host will ring a bell and it will be time to move on to the next table. This process continues until you have spoken to all of your dates, with a couple of well deserved breaks in between for refreshments.
If you like a person you tick them on your card and they do the same. At the end of the evening you hand the card back to your host, and everyone has chance to mingle further. Your host will use your score sheet, and those of the people you meet, and then email or phone you about your matches. You will be notified by e-mail or phone if you have a match the day after the event. You can also find your messages on the website when you login to the website.
Types of Match
|A summary of matches:
You only receive a ‘dating’ match if both people select dating. If one person chooses dating and the other chooses friendship it comes up as a ‘friendship’ match. If both people choose friendship it is also a friendship match.
After attending a SpeedDate Malta event, you will be emailed any matches and or messages left for you on the night within 24 hours. Any technical problems or questions should be addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org stating your name, event attended and date attended.
History of the Speed Dating
As far as we can establish, Speed Dating was invented in the late nineties in California. An orthodox Jewish Rabbi by the name of Rabbi Yaacov Deyo came up with the concept of the speed date in 1998to help Jewish singles meet and marry. Rabbi Deyo is educational director of Aish HaTorah, a Jewish resource group in LA with branches all over the world.
From its beginnings in the Jewish community the concept of the speed date, now commonly known as speeddating or speed dating, rapidly spread across the States and then across the Atlantic to the UK, and now Speed Dating has reached you!!
